Our Community Fund
One decision. One donation. Even if you don’t think about it for the rest of the year, your donation to the United Way of York Region Community Fund is improving lives in York Region every day.
Your donation helps people who are abused and people who are addicted. You help families in distress and support troubled children and youth. You help the mentally ill, the terminally ill, and the people who care for them.
The United Way of York Region Community Fund supports five priority areas:
- Affordable housing and homelessness;
- Domestic Violence and abuse;
- Literacy;
- Mental Health; and
- Newcomers and Immigrants

Employee Campaigns
Workplace campaigns are our single largest source of support. Employee Campaigns are fun, easy to organize, and have a tremendous impact on your community! Employee Campaigns
Corporate Giving

Leadership Giving
Leadership Giving is one of the fastest growing areas of our campaign. Our Leadership Giving Program includes all individuals and corporations that contribute more than $1,000 annually. - helps a homeless youth secure housing and find employment by providing 3 hours of 1/1 counselling. (Transitional and Supportive Housing Services of York Region)
- enables 1 adult with learning disabilities and/or attention deficit hyperactivity disorder to take part in an evaluative approach to finding and keeping a job. (Learning Disabilities Association of York Region)
- helps an elementary school student who has trouble learning at school due to socialization problems, by providing one hour of counselling. (Jewish Family and Child Service)

- helps 20 vulnerable teenagers develop positive life skills through a 12 week Leadership program. (Jericho Youth Centre)
- transports 3 patients to kidney dialysis treatment. (Georgina Mobility Transit)

- provides 1 on 1 tutoring to a parent with low literacy skills who wants to help their children with their homework. (Learning Centre for Georgina)
