Being a Leader is a way to show support for the community and champion a cause that will help make a better life for everyone. At United Way, Leaders are people who are ready to drive change, willing to set a powerful example, and able to inspire action. Outstanding leadership has been instrumental in broadening United Way’s reach and impact in our community.
It begins with a personal annual donation of $1,000 or more. This year, United Way of York Region has set a target of 765 Leaders, and with your support, we know we can achieve this milestone.
Now more than ever, your leadership is a gift of hope, ensuring our community remains stable today and can emerge stronger tomorrow.
Consider becoming a Leader today. If you were a Leadership donor in previous years, please consider increasing your gift if you’re able.
Below are some examples of the potential impact of a Leadership donation:
- 2 weeks of safe shelter and crisis support will be provided to an abused mom and her children, giving them a chance to find new housing and hope
- 10 troubled youth and their families will receive one year of counselling, providing the lifelong tools they need to maintain healthy relationships
- 6 newcomers will receive 8 hours of individual employment coaching and consultation, crucial help to find a job and start a life in Canada
- 20 isolated seniors will receive 1 year of social support to reduce loneliness and help keep them living at home safely
A Leadership donation works out to $636.62 after tax benefits are factored in, that’s just $1.74 a day!
